Young Ajax took over third place from FC Emmen on Monday evening in a mutual duel. Thanks to a volley from Youri Regeer, the Amsterdam promises booked a minimal victory: 1-0. In the meantime, number two Excelsior narrowed the gap to leader FC Volendam to one point by winning 0-2 at Jong AZ. Thanks in part to a rather absurd own goal, De Graafschap scored a point at Jong PSV: 2-2. ADO Den Haag won for the fifth time in a row, this time against Jong FC Utrecht (1-4).

Young Ajax – FC Emmen 1-0
Young Ajax entered a strong formation on paper, including Devyne Rensch, Kenneth Taylor and Mohamed Daramy. Naci Ünüvar hurled the ball in front of the goal from the right, after which Youri Regeer suddenly tapped it in from the air: 1-0.

Young PSV – De Graafschap 2-2
The first real chance of the match was immediate. It was Jong PSV defender Fedde Leysen who headed in after half an hour from a free kick by Simon Colyn: 1-0. De Graafschap was helped on the stroke of half-time by Ismael Saibari, who shot the ball hard into his own goal from the middle line: 1-1. The midfielder wanted to play back on goalkeeper Vincent Müller, but did it way too hard. PSV put things in order after the break via Colyn, who was able to print after a pass from Saibari: 2-1. De Graafschap came back fifteen minutes before the end. Müller saved on a shot by Hicham Acheffay, but couldn’t prevent Jonathan Opoku taking advantage in the rebound: 2-2.

Young FC Utrecht – ADO The Hague 1-4
The visitors from The Hague were already sitting on roses after fifteen minutes of play. In the sixth minute a shot by the industrious Ricardo Kishna via Gabriel Culhaci went into the goal. With fifteen minutes on the clock, ADO was again helped by Jong FC Utrecht. This time, a bang from Kishna was changed direction by the hapless Yuya Ikeshita: 0-2. Shortly after the break, Thomas Verheijdt put an end to all the tension in Utrecht: 0-3. Eljero Elia seemed to score the fourth goal fifteen minutes before the end, but goalkeeper Fabian de Keijzer made a save in the nick of time. Amar Catic made it 0-4 a minute later after a measured cross from the left. Mohamed Mallahi did something back on behalf of the home side ten minutes before the end, but his goal was only for the statistics. It is the first time since 2011 that ADO has won five times in a row, making fifth place in the Kitchen Champion Division after eighteen games.
