Aad de Mos predicts that Ibrahim Sangaré will make a top transfer in the future. The 23-year-old Ivorian midfielder signed last Saturday in the match against Vitesse (2-0 victory) for his fourth goal of the season. De Mos mentions it in a video of it Eindhovens Dagblad ‘a blessing for the team and a coach’ to have a player like Sangaré in the ranks.

“He was already good, but of course he was judged on other points. Especially by the non-experts. But of course he is a blessing for the team, a blessing for a coach that you have such a player on your team. You put it on the board first. Based on his game, his posture and his possibilities, this will of course be a top transfer for PSV in the future,” De Mos says. Sangaré was acquired from Toulouse a year and a half ago for seven million euros.

“The fact that he is difficult to get off the ball has to do with the fact that he is a bit relieved of the things he had to do in the past,” says De Mos. With this he points to the fact that Érick Gutiérrez was preferred to Marco van Ginkel against Fortuna Sittard and Vitesse. “It’s a nice feeling for a player when he has someone like Gutierrez standing next to you. He senses exactly when you are in trouble. If Sangaré is in trouble, he can be helped by Gutiérrez.”

“A meter forwards or backwards and then he can play the ball. When he sees the space, he goes into space and then he also shoots at the goal. He has shown against Sparta and Vitesse that he has mastered that. Then it becomes a very full Eredivisie or international player,” the retired coach continues. De Mos thinks that Van Ginkel can handle his current role. “I think Van Ginkel is an engaging type who understands this. He will certainly make his minutes. I think there will continue to be a good collaboration between Schmidt and Van Ginkel.”
