Barcelona has been spared nothing this season in terms of injury. The Catalans were already plagued by an overcrowded infirmary, on Saturday against Celta de Vigo (3-3) Ansu Fati, Eric García and Nico González also joined. Bizarrely, Barcelona can now put together a complete top team of all injured players at the club.

Barcelona is again concerned about Fati. The nineteen-year-old super talent had just returned from a serious knee injury and showed himself against Celta on Saturday afternoon by scoring the opening goal in a brilliant way. In the midweek, the wing striker was also of decisive importance by taking on the only goal against Dynamo Kiev (0-1). Against Celta, Fati grabbed his hamstring right away during a sprint. Barcelona confirmed late Saturday night that the winger has been out of action indefinitely due to an injury to the thigh muscle.

When interim coach Sergi Barjuán entered the dressing room at halftime on Saturday afternoon, García also indicated that he was injured. The center defender had to drop out with calf complaints and saw from the side how teammate Nico also suffered an injury in the second half. The midfielder collided with Renato Tapia in the 57th minute and grabbed his right knee. Barcelona have not yet provided an update on García and Nico’s injuries.

As mentioned, Barça can now put together a team of absent players. Reserve goalkeeper Neto called in sick against Celta, while right back Sergi Roberto had to miss the last three games due to a muscle injury to the thigh. With Sergiño Dest, who has back problems, another back is injured in the selection of Barça. Gerard Pique is also absent from the heart of the defense in addition to García. The experienced mandekker is struggling with a right calf strain and missed the last two matches.

In the midfield, Pedri is also eliminated in addition to Nico. The midfielder seems to be experiencing the aftermath of the very tough last season and has been out for a long time with a hamstring injury. On the flanks, in addition to Fati, Ousmane Dembélé was also injured again this week. The Frenchman made his comeback against Kiev after months of absence and suffered a hamstring injury in his 26-minute substitute.

Barcelona must also miss Sergio Aguero in the front for the time being. The Argentinian felt chest pain against Deportivo Alavés last week and was found to have a heart rhythm disorder after a check-up in the hospital. Aguero will in any case not be available for the next three months. In September, Barcelona had already lost Martin Braithwaite with a serious knee injury that required surgery on the Dane. Braithwaite is expected to return around the beginning of the next calendar year.
