After the victory over Borussia Dortmund (1-3) Ajax is assured of the knockout phase of the Champions League. The team from Amsterdam won the first four matches in the Champions League group stage for the first time in history, which is why the cash register in the Johan Cruijff ArenA is ringing. A victory in the billion-dollar ball is good for a premium of 2.8 million euros from UEFA, as a result of which Ajax has already collected 11.2 million euros in the group stage. In total, the counter stands at approximately 65 million euros in revenue from the European campaign.

With the qualification for the group stage, Ajax was already assured of approximately 45 million euros in income. All participants received a starting premium of 15.64 million euros. Income from the coefficient ranking and marketing pool added another 25 million euros. The Telegraph previously calculated that three sold-out home matches will yield Ajax another four million euros. With victories over Sporting Portugal (1-5), Besiktas (2-0) and Borussia Dortmund (4-0 and 1-3), Ajax is already certain of reaching the next round. For this, the club receives a premium of 9.6 million euros. Ajax’s counter currently stands at approximately 65 million euros in income. As the tournament progresses, even larger amounts can be earned for the leader of the Eredivisie. A place in the quarterfinals is good for another 10.6 million euros, while the semi-finalists receive 12.5 million euros. For the two finalists is 15.5 million euros ready and the winner of the Champions League receives a bonus of 20 million euros.
