UEFA has fined PSV for the match against Sturm Graz in the Europa League. The people of Eindhoven announce through the official channels that 33,625 euros must be paid, including for destruction in the stadium of the Austrian club. General director Toon Gerbrands would like to recover the damage from the perpetrators.

“For us, the measure is more than full. We no longer accept that people misbehave in the name of PSV, especially when we are guests. This misconduct is not supportive and I want it to end for good. We have now contacted the Austrian authorities and Sturm Graz and are doing everything we can to identify the perpetrators. We will recover the fine from them,” Gerbrands said on the PSV website.

PSV won 1-4 in Austria three weeks ago. Despite the fact that PSV had a relatively comfortable evening visiting Sturm Graz, misconduct apparently took place around the box with accompanying supporters. PSV received the fine from UEFA because objects were thrown onto the field from the branch during the match and destruction was caused by Eindhoven supporters in the Merkur Arena. PSV emphasizes in the message on its website that a fine will not be received for this reason for the first time.

Earlier this season, PSV was penalized by UEFA for disturbances during the game against Galatasaray. In addition to a fine of 1500 euros, boxes G and H had to be kept empty during the next European home game against FC Midtjylland. “It is a pity that an entire profession is now being victimized by a few people who have sold on their season tickets,” Gerbrands said at the time. “We will act against them.”
