Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman can go on Sunday afternoon during el Classico against Real Madrid do not rely on Pedri and Ronald Araújo. The two are still experiencing too much hindrance from hamstring injuries, reports ASH. Behind the name of Ousmane Dembélé there is also a question mark for the squatter against the Royal. The French attacker is hoping for his first playing minutes of the season after suffering a lingering hamstring injury during the European Championship.

Pedri suffered a thigh injury in September and returned to Koeman’s starting eleven during the lost Champions League match with Benfica (3-0). The midfielder’s return was short-lived, however, as the Spanish international then struggled with a hamstring injury. Pedri had to miss all the competition matches with Atlético Madrid (2-0 loss) and Valencia (3-1 win).

Araujo also suffered a hamstring injury during the last international match in Uruguay’s World Cup qualifier against Argentina. The defender had to be replaced fifteen minutes before the end. Koeman hopes Sunday afternoon during el Classico to be able to call on Dembele. The attacker suffered a hamstring injury at the European Championship and is still waiting for his first minutes of the season.

“Ousmane is doing well in training,” Koeman said last weekend in the run-up to the home game against Valencia in LaLiga. “But he still needs time. He participates in parts of training, but there are still things in which he needs to improve. It is difficult to say whether he will be back in the Clásico. We have to wait and see for the next few days.”
