The line-up of Ajax for the Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund is known. Erik ten Hag chooses Steven Berghuis as an attacking midfielder, which means that Davy Klaassen ends up on the bench. The match, in which the lead in Group C is at stake, starts on Tuesday evening at 9 p.m. in the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Klaassen started the season as an attacking midfielder, but was replaced by Berghuis in September due to a groin injury. Klaassen is now fit again; a week and a half ago he shot the the Dutch to a 0-1 victory over Latvia. On Saturday, both players were in the starting lineup against sc Heerenveen (0-2 win), but that was due to the absence of Antony. The Brazilian later returned from his international duties, so Berghuis played as a right winger. Now Antony returns to the right winger position and Berghuis takes the place behind striker Sébastien Haller.

At the closing press conference, Ten Hag did not want to get ahead of things. “I have made my choice,” said the trainer on Monday. “And you won’t see it until tomorrow.” His line-up contains no further surprises. Lisandro Martínez, back from international obligations with Argentina, is in the starting lineup after he entered the field as a substitute in Heerenveen. Edson Álvarez was not there at all in Friesland, but the Mexico midfielder is in the base on Tuesday evening. Ajax and Dortmund collected six points from the first two group matches.
