Mohammed Kudus showed himself on Saturday at Ghana. The attacking midfielder, who currently has to tolerate Steven Berghuis and Davy Klaassen at Ajax, helped his country with a beautiful goal against Zimbabwe: 3-1. An important win for Ghana, which had lost a previous game to South Africa and is one point behind that country.

Kudus started in the midfield base at Ghana, where Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey was also posted. Stade Rennes striker Kamaldeen Sulemana started the attack along with Jordan Ayew of Crystal Palace. Kudus’ goal came in the fifth minute. The number ten set up a one-two with Jordan Ayew and shot the ball in from the edge of the box with his less-esteemed right. It was his fourth international goal in seven matches.

Zimbabwe tied the score after halftime via a penalty from Knowledge Musona, after which Ghana stepped up a gear to take the win. Partey outplayed an opponent in the penalty area and shot the ball hard and low: 2-1. The decision came via André Ayew, who headed in a cross from the left.
