Borussia Dortmund does not give up without a fight with the departure of Erling Braut Haaland, reports BILD. The 21-year-old star player can BVB left next summer for a limited amount of 75 million euros, but the Germans hope to tempt the striker to sign a new contract.

Dortmund are prepared to make Haaland the highest-paid player in the squad by far. The center striker is currently fixed for a salary of eight million euros per year until mid-2024 and can upgrade that to no less than fifteen million euros per season. With that, the Norwegian attacker would have to waive the escape clause in his contract, which logically makes a transfer to another club more difficult.

Haaland came over from Red Bull Salzburg on January 1, 2020 for twenty million euros and had no adjustment problems at all. The center striker immediately started scoring on the assembly line and after 67 official games for Dortmund, he has scored no fewer than 68 goals. It gives him interest from almost the entire European top. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid are said to be hoping to pick up Haaland for €75 million. That limited amount can amount to 90 million euros via bonuses.
