Bayern Munich took a big step towards the knockout phase of the Champions League on Wednesday evening. The men of Julian Nagelsmann did not benefit from Dynamo Kiev in their own Allianz Arena, which had to concede five goals. Two of them were in the name of Robert Lewandowski, the most beautiful in the name of Leroy Sané. The latter surprisingly suddenly shot the ball in close to the left sideline. Bayern top Group E with six points, Kiev remains third with one point. Barcelona fell hard in the other game in the group at Benfica (3-0).

A counterattack could have surprisingly given Dynamo the lead, but Viktor Tsygankov aimed the ball over. On the other side, goalkeeper Georgi Bushchan saved with a quick reflex on a Lewanowski header. The game was only eleven minutes away when Bayern were awarded a penalty kick because of a handball from Sergiy Sydorchuk, who wanted to clear the corner from Joshua Kimmich. Lewandowski knew what to do with the opportunity from eleven meters: 1-0.

Bayern doubled that lead after half an hour via Lewandowksi again, who was overlooked by the Ukrainian defense and could be played by Thomas Müller. Lewandowski then simply shot the ball behind Bushchan: 2-0. Leroy Sané had the third German goal on the shoe, but aimed for the post from the left side of the penalty area. Manuel Neuer saved Bayern from a goal on the stroke of half-time, when the goalkeeper tapped a Carlos de Pena effort beautifully from the top corner.

Well after the break, Serge Gnabry headed just wide from a cross by Alphonso Davies. A minute later, in the 68th to be exact, Gnabry managed to score. The wing striker was released on the right side of the penalty area and bowled the ball full into the intersection: 3-0. Six minutes later it was Sané’s turn, who seemed to pass the ball near the left sideline, but Bushchan suddenly surprised with a beautiful shot: 4-0. Substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting signed for the final chord by heading in a pass from Benjamin Pavard: 5-0.
