The line-up of Ajax for the home game against SC Cambuur is known. Trainer Erik ten Hag chooses Nicolás Tagliafico in the left back position, which means that Daley Blind has to give up his place. Antony also starts on the couch. He is replaced up front by David Neres. The duel in the Johan Cruijff ArenA will start at 8 p.m. and is led by referee Sander van der Eijk.

It is not known whether Blind has an injury or whether Ten Hag will rest. The defender annex midfielder was still kicking off against Sporting Portugal on Wednesday and was taken off for Perr Schuurs ten minutes before the end. For Tagliafico it is his first appearance since the lost match in the Johan Cruijff Scale against PSV. In that game, Tagliafico was shown red for a foul on Ramalho. Since then, the Argentinian was passed by Ten Hag and Blind was preferred in the left back position.

Antony also starts on the couch with the team from Amsterdam. The Brazilian was on a roll against Sporting and provided, among other things, two assists to Sébastien Haller. Against Cambuur his place is taken by Neres. Steven Berghuis is again in number 10 position. Furthermore, Maarten Stekelenburg is not yet fit enough to play against the club from Leeuwarden, so Remko Pasveer defends the goal.

Cambuur will play a duel with Ajax for the first time since November 2015 in the Johan Cruijff Arena; at the time, the biggest loss was equaled on a visit to Amsterdam (5-1). Of all the teams that Ajax met more than ten times in the Eredivisie, only FC Dordrecht has a higher win percentage (91.7%) than against SC Cambuur (85.7% – 12/14). Cambuur won one of the previous fourteen Eredivisie meetings with the team that was the reigning national champion at that time (two draws, eleven defeats): on April 11, 1999 Cambuur won 4-1 against Ajax.
