Bayern Munich has a taste for it. The team of coach Julian Nagelsmann was 7-0 too strong for VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga on Saturday, which meant the seventh official victory in a row and a goal difference of 37-4 in this series: only the season overture against Borussia Mönchengladbach (1- 1) was not won. Thanks to the victory, Bayern will stay overnight as the leader. Mark Fleks, who is part of the pre-selection of the Dutch national team, kept a clean sheet for SC Freiburg for the third time in six matches in all competitions.

Bayern Munich – VfL Bochum 7-0
The visitors held out just over fifteen minutes of play in the Allianz Arena. A brilliant free kick by Leroy Sané, a bet from about 25 meters in the right corner, broke the ban: 1-0. Thomas Reis’ team then had nothing to say against Bayern until the halftime signal, which nevertheless received the 2-0 and 4-0 as a gift from the PhD student.

The completely detached Joshua Kimmich shot the ball in from close range via Armel Bella Kotchap and not much later Serge Gnabry was the end station of a lightning-fast counter on the right. The 4-0 was an own goal by Vassilis Lampropoulos, who wanted to prevent Robert Lewandowski from converting a pass from Thomas Müller.

Bayern went further in the last half hour. Lewandowski scored from close range to make it 5-0 after a failed shot by Gnabry. The Pole, who has scored at least one goal in each of his last nineteen official games for Bayern, is therefore the first player ever to score thirteen home games in a row in the Bundesliga. Kimmich and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Lewandowski’s replacement, determined the final score: 6-0 and 7-0. Just before time, Müller’s 8-0 was disallowed for offside.

1. FSV Mainz 05 – SC Freiburg 0-0
The first act ended goalless and that was no surprise. The teams of Bo Svensson and Christian Streich were mainly busy neutralizing each other and avoiding any risk, so there were hardly any dangerous moments. Just before the break, Mark Flek had to come into action on a weak shot by Jean-Paul Boëtius, who, like Jeremiah St. Juste, was in the starting line-up. That was the first time a goalkeeper was put to work.

The scoreboard in the MEWA Arena did not move after the break, and Fleks played an important part in that. After less than an hour of play, the goalkeeper with good footwork prevented Jonathan Burkardt, who had entered the penalty area on the left, from aiming the ball into the left corner. Ten minutes before the end, Fleks again did not allow St.Juste to unbalance the game with his foot. Freiburg remains fifth, with nine points from five matches.
