Vitesse made an excellent start to the group stage of the Conference League on Thursday evening. Thomas Letsch’s team convincingly dealt with NS Mura in Slovenia. The difference was made by goals from Sondre Trondstad and Danilho Doekhi and could have been much bigger if Vitesse had handled the many opportunities better.

Tannane got a chance in the base at Vitesse for the first time in four games, while Riechedly Bazoer also made his appearance from the start. Right back Eli Dasa was absent due to the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur and was replaced by Romaric Yapi. ?The match started with a tour de force by Tannane, who crossed the ball to Nikolai Fredriksen with a rabona. His header just went over. Maximilian Wittek then completed his right to goalkeeper Matko Obradovic in freedom. Vitesse himself gave away one big chance in the first half: with a free kick, the defense overlooked Jan Gorenc, who headed over.

Vitesse clearly had the initiative and that resulted in the opening goal after half an hour. The first shot by Tronstad fortunately came through the foot of an opponent and the back of teammate Matús Bero, after which the Norwegian shot the ball with the outside left in: 0-1. Then Tannane tried with a hard long shot, which was tapped away by Obradovic.

After the break, Vitesse again had great opportunities. Fredriksen first headed straight for Obradovic and moments later failed to aim the ball after a good cross by Yapi. Bero saw a header tapped out from under the crossbar, while Tannane hit the crossbar with a great shot from long range. In the end, the deserved goal for the Arnhem team came from a corner, headed in by Doekhi: 0-2. Vitesse had plenty of room to score a third goal, but handled it very carelessly.
