Napoli secured a hard-fought victory over Juventus on Saturday. In-house, the team of trainer Luciano Spalletti was too strong for 2-1 la Vecchia Signora, which appeared at the kick-off with a glorified B-team. Matthijs de Ligt was also not fit enough to start in the starting line-up and only came in for Luca Pellegrini halfway through the second half. It was the third win of the season for Napoli, which is at the top of the Serie A. Juventus only took one point from three games and is currently sixteenth in Italy.

Trainer Massimo Allegri had to do without a large part of the trusted names at Juventus. Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala, Alex Sandro, Danilo and Rodrigo Bentancur, among others, were absent due to the late return to the club after their respective appearances in the South American World Cup qualifying series. Federico Chiesa was also missing from Juventus, as he returned lightly from his international matches with Italy.

It soon became clear that big names were missing at Juventus. In the fourth minute of play, Napoli immediately had a great chance to score the opening goal. Lorenzo Insigne had a nice pass to Matteo Politano, who headed just over the bar. Yet the team from Turin suddenly took the lead in the tenth minute. After a painful slip by Kostas Manolas, Álvaro Morata was able to take advantage and pass goalkeeper David Ospina in the short corner: 0-1.

Napoli seemed shocked for a moment after the goal and good, played out opportunities were not created in the remainder of the first company. In the second half, the Neapolitans flourished and the remontada deployed. Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny misjudged an Insigne cross and boxed the ball at the feet of Politano, who equalized from a difficult angle: 1-1. Fifteen minutes before the end, the Polish closing post did have an important save in the house, when he dived a pin from Fabián Ruiz from the corner.

In the 86th minute the curtain fell for Juventus, which barely appeared in the second half. After a corner from Piotr Zielinski and a carom in front of the enemy goal, Kalidou got Koulibaly from the rebound and scored the winner from close by: 2-1.
