Liverpool are keen to break open and extend Mohamed Salah’s contract. However, the Egyptian attacker has exorbitant salary demands. According to the Daily Mirror he wants to extend his contract at a salary of 500,000 pounds a week, about 583,000 euros. Liverpool are not going to live up to the high demands of the 29-year-old attacker.

Liverpool have had a quiet transfer window. The English top club paid forty million euros for Ibrahima Konate and mainly focused on extending the contracts of a number of players. Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Andy Robertson, Jordan Henderson and Alisson Becker, among others, could count on improved contracts. None of them had claims comparable to those of Salah, who is said to have attracted the interest of clubs such as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would like to keep Salah longer. The attacker’s current contract expires in the summer of 2023. According to reports, Salah currently earns £200,000 a week, making him one of the top earners in the selection. Liverpool would be willing to hand out a salary increase, but do not want to meet the high demands. If both parties want to come to an agreement, Salah will have to add water to the wine.
