A transfer from Joey Veerman to AZ is still a long way off for the time being. There is a significant difference between supply and demand, the 22-year-old sc Heerenveen midfielder reveals in front of the camera of ESPN. Veerman says that AZ has made an offer of 4.5 million euros, while Heerenveen wants to leave him a transfer fee of 8 million euros.

“I know that AZ made an offer two days ago. I don’t know anything else for the rest. I know the amount of the offer, but Heerenveen disagrees. I think it was 4 million, 4.5 million. something like that. I know what Heerenveen is asking for me, this doesn’t come close. I think around eight million or so,” Veerman indicates. The midfielder realizes that he has to switch the button if it does not come from a transfer. At an earlier stage, he was also linked to Feyenoord, Rangers and Hellas Verona, among others.

“I’ll have to understand, unfortunately I don’t have much to say about that. Grumpy walking around here if it doesn’t come around? That doesn’t seem useful to me”, responds Veerman, who would consider a transfer to AZ a ‘logical step’. His contract in Friesland will continue until mid-2024. “I have to sell myself anyway, so that doesn’t make much sense. Then it is no different. I may not be able to play football, but I am paid by Heerenveen.”

Technical manager Ferry de Haan did not want to respond substantively on Sunday morning when asked. “As far as we are concerned, the situation is no different from a few weeks ago,” he told Football International. AZ raised 37 million euros this summer with the sale of Myron Boadu (AS Monaco), Calvin Stengs (OGC Nice) and Marco Bizot (Stade Brest). In addition, Koopmeiners is about to switch to Atalanta for 14 million euros.

“I have read amounts around ten million, towards abroad, that is in any case something that AZ will not pay,” responds AZ trainer Pascal Jansen to ESPN on the messages about Veerman. “It is also something that has left. They are good players. But there is also a life after the departure. And that is what we will focus on.”
