UEFA has announced the schedule for the group stage of the Champions League. Ajax, the only Dutch participant in the tournament, will start on Wednesday 15 September with an away match against Sporting Portugal. The team from Amsterdam will close the group stage on Tuesday 7 December in front of their own audience against the same opponent.
After the opening match against Sporting, Ajax will meet Besiktas at home. Then follows a diptych against Borussia Dortmund, with first a home game and then an away game. After an away game against Besiktas, the final match with Sporting Portugal follows. The Europa League and Conference League schedules have not yet been announced.
