Jorge Mendes landed in Turin on a private plane on Wednesday evening, Italian media reported. The renowned agent has traveled to Italy for an emergency meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo about his future. The 36-year-old attacker is open to a departure from Juventus, although there is no formal offer for Juventus for the time being. Ronaldo’s contract expires next summer.

Mendes and Ronaldo are expected to talk about Manchester City’s interest on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, and the representative will visit Juventus headquarters during the day. Fabrizio Romano announced on Monday that Juventus wants an amount of 25 million euros to buy the one-year contract from Ronaldo.

Since Ronaldo was benched on Sunday at his own request against Udinese (2-2), because he is “looking for a solution in the transfer market”, rumors have been buzzing about a departure from Turin. On Monday, Romano added that only an English club participating in the Champions League is among the options for Ronaldo.

A move from Ronaldo to Manchester City would be very sensitive given his past with fellow city rivals Manchester United, but the English seem to be the only party with serious interest at the moment. Manchester City is according to L’Equipe not planning to pay a transfer fee, but has a trump card with Aymeric Laporte. The defender is dissatisfied in Manchester and sees a move to Juventus.

Manchester City are open to a transfer and want to pay Ronaldo’s salary of 31 million euros a year, but a possible transfer fee could pose a problem. The reigning champions of England are prepared to put Ronaldo on the payroll for two seasons. A move from Ronaldo to Paris Saint-Germain seems unrealistic unless the French club chooses to sell Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid after all at the right price.
