Turkey was rocked on Saturday night by a dire moment during the match between Gaziantep and Besiktas. Fabrice N’Sakala suddenly collapsed in the seventieth minute. The 31-year-old left-back of Besiktas was lifted onto a stretcher and rushed to hospital by an ambulance, which had entered the field.

Besiktas has now provided more clarity about the incident on Twitter. The reigning champion reports that N’Sakala was taken to hospital as a precaution and is fully conscious and had no problems breathing. The game was stopped for a while, but resumed after consultation between the referee and the trainers of both teams.

N’Sakala played in Anderlecht’s uniform from 2013 to 2016. The Congolese was then loaned to Alanyaspor, which took him over permanently a year ago. Since last year, N’Sakala has been playing for Besiktas, who later that evening shared a photo from the hospital with a smiling N’Sakala.
