Vitesse drew a draw in the final minutes on Thursday evening when visiting Anderlecht. The team of coach Thomas Letsch thought the play-off match to win Conference League participation thanks to a late goal by substitute Oussama Tannane, but had to allow Yari Verschaeren equalizer in the ninetieth minute: 3-3. In stoppage time Anderlecht also shot a penalty on the crossbar in the person of Lior Refaelov. Next Thursday is the return in Arnhem.

Anderlecht started the game strongly and took the lead in the tenth minute. Francis Amuzu first headed into the body of Riechedly Bazoer and then shot into the rebound at Markus Schubert. The ball fell at the feet of Benito Raman, who finished it simply: 1-0. Then Schubert had a fingertip response to a hard shot from the goalscorer. Vitesse then also made their mark, first with a header from Oussama Darfalou, which was tapped out of the corner by Hendrik van Crombrugge.

After half an hour of play, Elazar Dasa scored the equalizer in a fantastic way. Vitesse’s right back caught a falling ball and suddenly fired it into the intersection from outside the penalty area: 1-1. Vitesse could not enjoy it for long, because three minutes later it was completely open in the back. Raman was then the end station of a wide ball from Amuzu through the penalty area of ​​the Arnhem team: 2-1. Vitesse was lucky that the broken through Raman aimed at the post a little later through Schubert’s feet.

Vitesse needed 32 seconds in the second half to fight back again. Nikolai Frederiksen found some space for himself on the edge of the penalty area and poked the ball low into the short corner: 2-2. Yann Gboho aimed shortly afterwards on behalf of Vitesse. Anderlecht then took a little more initiative, but didn’t get any real chances except for a ball just wide of Raman.

Letsch brought in Tannane after more than an hour and was rewarded six minutes later, when the attacking midfielder stole the ball from Wesley Hoedt. Tannane was able to push through and sent Gómez into the woods, before looking for the far corner: 2-3. Vitesse came under great pressure and could not prevent Verschaeren’s equalizer in the last minute. The substitute shot the ball in hard and low from the edge of the box: 3-3. Matús Bero then conceded a penalty with a stupid and late tackle. It was rammed hard into the bar by Refaelov.
