Xavi Simons does not have to count on much playing time at Paris Saint-Germain for the time being. The eighteen-year-old Dutch midfielder was not part of the selection for the first two competition matches and has not even trained with the A-selection since Wednesday, reports said. Le Parisien. He now trains with the Under-19 of PSG. The same goes for peer Edouard Michut.

According to Le Parisien wants coach Mauricio Pochettino to narrow his selection a bit. He already has summer signings Georginio Wijnaldum and Achraf Hakimi at his disposal, while Lionel Messi and Gianluigi Donnarumma are also training. Sergio Ramos will also be joining the group soon. Idrissa Gueye is recovering from the coronavirus, while players like Marco Verratti, Leandro Paredes, Neymar, Ángel Di María and Marquinhos are also on their way back. It is unclear who will be there against Stade Brest on Friday, but Simons and Michut will probably not travel along.

According to Le Parisien the club does not yet draw any hard conclusions to the decision to let Simons and Michut train with the Under-19, which is led by Zoumana Camara. The newspaper recalls that Simons left a good impression in the pre-season, with goals against Le Mans and Chambly. Michut, an attacking midfielder, played strongly as a substitute against Sevilla (2-2) in an exhibition game. However, they are not in Pochettino’s plans for the time being. Sixteen-year-old El Chadaille Bitshiabu continues to train with the first team, just like Ismaël Gharbi (seventeen) and Nathan Bitumazala (eighteen).
