Feyenoord is temporarily saying goodbye to Christian Conteh, the Rotterdammers report via the official channels. The 21-year-old wing striker came over from the 2.Bundesliga for a few hundred thousand euros last year and is now returning there. Conteh hopes to make more minutes at SV Sandhausen than he has done in Rotterdam so far.

Technical director Frank Arnesen of Feyenoord worked for a long time on the arrival of Conteh and last year managed to loosen him at FC St. Pauli. However, the left striker was unable to convince Dick Advocaat and made two short substitutes in the Eredivisie. Arne Slot also does not appreciate the presence of German Ghanaians and grants his permission for a rental period.

Conteh is happy to go to Sandhausen. “I need match rhythm,” explains the winger. “When this opportunity presented itself, I didn’t have to think twice. I am very motivated and I know that I can help the team with my qualities.” Conteh has a contract with Feyenoord until mid-2024.

Arne Slot said at the press conference on Wednesday that he did not expect any more outgoing transfers except for Conteh. The Feyenoord trainer still hopes for purchases. “Whether that will work, that is very much the question,” said the coach. “I think we need reinforcements in particular offensively. We are not in a position to have a whole wish list, which I always say to the scouts: get a good player. That is a fairly simple assignment, isn’t it. are looking for a striker and a winger.”
