Cristiano Ronaldo has responded in a statement on Instagram to all the transfer troubles surrounding his person. There is much speculation this summer about a return to Real Madrid, but according to the Portuguese superstar, that is not the case. Carlo Ancelotti also felt compelled to deny that news. Ronaldo denounces the attitude of the media and is annoyed that “no one has ever worried about getting to the truth.”

In the Spanish television program El Chiringuito de Jugones it was reported that coach Carlo Ancelotti would like to bring the 36-year-old Portuguese attacker back to Real Madrid. “Anyone who knows me knows how focused I am on my work,” Ronaldo begins his statement. “Talking less and doing more has been my guiding motto since the beginning of my career. But given everything that has been said and written lately, I have to make my point. More than the lack of respect for me as a man and as player, is the frivolous way the media talks about my future. It is disrespectful to all the clubs involved in these rumours, as well as to the players and the staff.”

“My story at Real Madrid is written,” Ronaldo continues. “In words and in numbers, in trophies and titles, in records and in headlines. The history is in the museum at the Bernabeu stadium and it is on the minds of every fan of the club. And apart from what I have achieved , I remember that in those nine years I had a relationship of deep affection and respect for all Real fans, an affection and respect that I cherish to this day and that I will always cherish. I know that the real Real Madrid fans will continue to hold me in their hearts, and I will have them in my heart.”

Ronaldo has also seen the rumors about his person. “Besides this most recent period in Spain, there have been regular news and stories associating me with a number of clubs in different competitions, where no one has ever worried about trying to find out the truth. I am now breaking the silence to say “I can’t let people keep playing with my name. I stay focused on my career and my work, engaged and prepared for all the challenges I face. And the rest? That’s just talk.”
