Felix Götze, the 23-year-old brother of PSV midfielder Mario Götze, has been in hospital since Sunday with a skull base fracture. The player of 1. FC Kaiserslautern sustained the injury during the away match against Viktoria Berlin (4-0). “He is in intensive care for further examination, but given the circumstances, he is doing well,” Kaiserslautern said.
Halfway through the second half, Götze collided hard with opponent Marvin Senger in a header duel. Teammates provided first aid, after which he was carried off the field on a stretcher. The Telegraph reports that Mario Götze is expected to travel to Portugal with PSV.
