There is little chance that Feyenoord will get rid of Mark Diemers this summer. The midfielder is struggling with a knee injury and is forced to put a transfer out of his mind, you know Feyenoord Transfermarkt. Diemers, however, really wanted to make a transfer to Feyenoord and that’s how it happened. Last season, he made 38 appearances in all competitions. The midfielder appeared at the starting signal in 23 of his 30 Eredivisie appearances, played two matches in the TOTO KNVB Cup and was in the starting lineup in each of the six Europa League matches. He had three goals and four assists.
Feyenoord paid Fortuna a transfer fee of approximately one million euros for Diemers and will want to recoup as much of this investment as possible. According to Feyenoord Transfermarkt there was interest from several countries. Hajduk Split, AEK Athens, Panathinaikos and the Hungarian Fehérvár would have liked both parties to get rid of each other. Diemers’ name was also associated with sc Heerenveen, where he should form an exchange deal with Joey Veerman.
