Internazionale is looking at the possibilities to steal Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli, reports Gianluca Di Marzio. The thirty-year-old captain of i Partenopei, who is still in a contract for one year, is dissatisfied with the salary offer his club has made to him and hints at a departure. There has already been contact between Inter and the entourage of Insigne, or so it sounds.

Insigne has been regarded as the star player of Napoli for years and would like to be rewarded with an improved annual salary. The left striker, who won the European Championship with Italy this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport at a salary of 6 million euros, while Napoli does not want to go further than 3.5 million euros. Because neither side seems to want to move in the negotiations, a departure is obvious.

Aurelio De Laurentiis, the striking chairman of Napoli, is now also taking this into account and is reportedly willing to participate in a transfer for 25 million euros. In the coming hours, Internazionale hopes to get clarity whether the arrival of Insigne has a chance of success. The winger is a child of Napoli and broke through in the first team in 2010. Since then, Insigne has played 397 times for Napoli, scoring 109 goals and providing 85 assists. He has been wearing the captain’s armband for two years now.
