Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur balanced each other in the London derby on Wednesday evening. The exhibition game at Stamford Bridge ended in a 2-2 draw. Hakim Ziyech was the big man on the side of with two hits the Blues, while Steven Bergwijn managed to avert a defeat with his goal.

The team of manager Thomas Tuchel started the meeting with the Spurswho barely got around to playing football. Ziyech, just like in the won exhibition game with Arsenal, was given a basic place and paid out Tuchel’s trust after sixteen minutes of play. N’Golo Kanté opened the ball excellently and delivered the ball to the Moroccan international, who then beautifully outwitted goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from about twenty meters: 1-0.

Two minutes later, Ziyech came close to scoring a second goal. The hanging winger drew in from the right and shot with the left at goal, but that effort went just wide of the post. Still, the former Ajax player would put his name on the scoreboard for the second time. Ziyech got the ball on the edge of the box in the feet of Marcos Alonso, after which he created space and produced a diagonal shot into the far corner with the left: 2-0. At that time, especially thanks to the outstanding Ziyech, there was nothing in the air.

However, after an hour of play, Tottenham woke up and the catch-up race started. Lucas Moura fortunately got the ball at his feet, after which the shot that followed was touched by Antonio Rüdiger and disappeared into the top corner: 2-1. In the end, the equalizer was also found. Bergwijn rushed into the penalty area after a custom pass from Son Heung-min, and shot 2-2 against the ropes with Édouard Mendy’s left leg. Both teams were still looking for the winning goal, which was not found.
