Bayern Munich has returned to the Eredivisie in its search for a new wing striker, reports Sky Deutschland. The German superpower considers Ajax’s Antony as a potential reinforcement, after the club previously inquired with PSV about Cody Gakpo. The high price tags of both wingers are still an obstacle for the time being, it sounds like.

Antony has left an excellent impression on Bayern Munich in his first season in the Netherlands, reports Max Bielefeld of sky. The 21-year-old Brazilian, who has 10 goals and 10 assists in 46 official matches for Ajax, should bring in 32 million euros. Bayern currently does not have the financial means to be able to put such an amount on the table and is therefore not taking any action for the time being.

“He has developed very well,” Bielefeld says of Antony, who is currently active with Brazil in the Olympics. “He is a classic winger, very good one-on-one, strong crosses, great first meters,” Bielefeld enthuses. Bayern, however, recoils from the high asking price that Ajax uses. “The problem for Bayern is that no potential acquisition can be found under 30 million euros. The club must first scrape that amount together.”

Earlier it reported Eindhovens Dagblad all that Bayern has informed PSV about Gakpo, news that sky will be confirmed. Technical manager John de Jong does not think about a sale ‘before a bid starts at least with the number 3’, so it sounded. This also makes Gakpo unattainable for Bayern for the time being.
