Robin van Persie has deposited a considerable amount for a spacious villa in Rotterdam, in the chic district of Hillegersberg. The former attacker took over the luxurious home of wealthy businessman Michel Perridon, who is also an avid supporter of Feyenoord. Van Persie paid a total of 6.5 million euros for the spacious accommodation in his hometown.

“I am very proud”, Perridon exults on Thursday morning in a reaction to the General Newspaper. “That I can sell my house to one of the greatest football players we have ever produced here in Rotterdam: beautiful, isn’t it? And he’s a nice guy too. I’m sure he will have very good times here, just like me have had”, he tells the all-time top scorer of the Dutch national team.

Perridon came into contact with Van Persie through a mutual friend. “I wanted to get rid of my house because it’s too big now that my kids are out of the house. And I knew Robin was looking for a new place. He came to have a look, and he loved it. I’m always careful with my stuff, so also at my house. A day later we were out,” said the businessman, who will live in the coach house next to Villa Welgelegen in Rotterdam. Perridon had that building renovated for millions of euros in recent years.

Perridon founded Trust in 1983, which has since become a major player in hardware accessories. He sold his company in 2018 to investment company Egeria. Since then, the multimillionaire has invested in many places in companies and enterprises. Perridon is currently in 125th place in the Quote 500, with an estimated net worth of 350 million euros. He is also known for the television program Dragons Deni, in which young and starting entrepreneurs compete for an investment from one or several millionaires.
