Nicolai Jörgensen is on his way to the exit at Feyenoord. The thirty-year-old striker is in far-reaching negotiations with the Turkish Kasimpasa, reports Feyenoord Transfermarkt. “Nothing official yet, but a deal is pretty close now,” said the usually well-informed Twitter account.

Jörgensen has no future at Feyenoord and, in consultation with Arne Slot, decided not to even train with the selection. With a salary of reportedly 1.7 million euros per year, the Dane puts a lot of pressure on the budget, so the interest from Turkey is coming for Feyenoord. Jörgensen, who after five years in Rotterdam himself is ready for a new challenge, may leave on a free transfer.

Remarkably enough, Jörgensen has been registered for the Conference League by Feyenoord, as we knew Football International to be revealed on Tuesday. In case of emergency, the center striker would still take action in a European context for the Rotterdam club. Feyenoord will fly to Kosovo on Wednesday morning for the first meeting with FC Drita in the second heat of the Conference League on Thursday evening. The return match in De Kuip is scheduled for Thursday 29 July.

Feyenoord has not yet attracted a replacement for Jörgensen and seems to start with Róbert Bozeník as the first striker against Drita. The club did attract a replacement for Steven Berghuis with Alireza Jahanbakhsh, but the Iranian attacker is not yet eligible to play in the second preliminary round of the Conference League. “Alireza has had four weeks of vacation, you can’t expect him to play such a game in three days,” Slot said this week.
