Tyrell Malacia discussed the alleged interest of Club Brugge for the first time on Saturday. The 21-year-old defender was associated with the top club from Belgium a week ago and he is said to have even reached a personal agreement. “We are finished with a left back, but the club wants eleven million euros. While he is only worth six”, said technical director Bart Verhaeghe. A reaction from Rotterdam soon followed.

“He will stay with Feyenoord”, technical director Frank Arnesen said less than an hour after the message RTV Rijnmond know. Saturday after the 2-1 practice win at Werder Bremen it was Malacia’s turn, in conversation with ESPN. “I just signed with Feyenoord. I’m just here now and I’m focusing on Feyenoord.” The reporter indicated that it was written that he had reached a personal agreement with Club Brugge. “I don’t look at that at all. I’m just here now and that’s the most important thing.”

However, Malacia’s reaction cannot convince many Feyenoord fans. It is regretted on social media and supporter forums that the defender has not firmly denied that he and Club Brugge have come to an agreement. “Swirl around the hot mess! If you agree personally, you want to leave! Then you just have to say it’s nonsense but he doesn’t say that!”, reads a tweet, while some supporters of Feyenoord on FR12 conclude that ‘not deny’ means that Malacia did indeed have an agreement with the reigning champion of Belgium.

Malacia signed at the end of June until the summer of 2024, which does not exclude the possibility that Club Brugge could still release him from Rotterdam. In December 2017, at the age of eighteen, he made his debut in the main squad against Napoli (2-1). Since then, the youth international has played 86 official matches for the Rotterdam team. With Bas Dost, Noa Lang and Ruud Vormer, Club Brugge already has three Dutchmen on its payroll.
