Feyenoord failed to win the first of two matches with Werder Bremen on Saturday: 3-3. Naoufal Bannis once again showed his form in the preparation with two goals. Trainer Arne Slot opted for a young team during the first showdown and only brought a few experienced players into the group. One of them was Mark Diemers. Slot seems to indicate that there is no place for the midfielder in the Feyenoord team next season. Feyenoord will play against Werder Bremen again at 4 p.m., then in De Kuip in front of the public.
Of all the players who came into action during the first game, only Ofir Marciano, Diemers and João Teixeira were the players with the necessary experience. Slot’s team also consisted of players who played in the Rotterdam youth last season and players who were rented out. The striker received the ball on the edge of the sixteen and found the right corner with a nice bang. Barely five minutes later, the attack leader again hit the mark when he was allowed to moor from eleven meters. Bannis saw his first bet turned, but was still accurate in the rebound: 2-0.
