It seems that the leaked audio tapes of Florentino Pérez to some of Real Madrid’s legends are endless. Where the president of the Royal Previously embarrassed with harsh statements towards Iker Casillas and Raúl, Luís Figo and Guti are now taking the brunt. El Confidencial will again publish a number of audio fragments on Friday, on which you can hear how Guti in particular is razed to the ground by Pérez.

Real Madrid has been rocked by a strange soap for several days now. The digital medium El Confidencial revealed in recent days some excerpts from conversations of Perez, the current president of Real Madrid, in which he makes particularly insulting statements towards players and coaches. Guti and Figo are the president’s latest victims. “Guti is a donkey”, Pérez explained in a fragment from 2012. “He is crazy as a goat. He is his own worst enemy. Guti is put to good use by Cadena SER (a Spanish radio station, ed.), who wanted to hire an idiot. Softy. And the same story at Cadena COPE (another radio station, ed.). He will not leave.”

It was clear that Guti was not pleased with Perez returning as president of Real Madrid in 2009. Pérez, in turn, could not live with the fact that his predecessor Ramón Calderón had extended Guti’s contract. The midfielder ended up on the bench, played significantly less in the 2008/09 season and moved to Besiktas through the back door a year later. Guti is certainly not the first legend of the Royal which is razed to the ground. Earlier, the president called Casillas and Raul “crooks”, Cristiano Ronaldo “a fool” and Jose Mourinho “an idiot”.

In another newly surfaced clip, from 2006, the year Pérez first retired from his post as president, he attacks Figo. Zinedine Zidane, on the other hand, is one of the few players to be spared. “Figo is un hijo de puta“, can be heard in the fragment from September 2006. “He has disrupted the entire dressing room, together with Raúl. They were by far the worst.” Real Madrid said in a statement on Thursday morning that Spanish journalist Jose Antonio Abellán attempted to bribe Eduardo Fernández de Blas, then Real’s vice-president, in 2011.

Pérez already came to Real’s website on Tuesday with an extensive response to the El Confidencial published sound clips. “The sentences are spoken in conversations recorded by Mr. José Antonio Abellán, who has been trying to sell the conversations without success for many years. It is now surprising that, despite the time that has passed, the newspaper El Confidencial is now still making the statements. These are just a few sentences from conversations with a broader context. These statements are only now coming to light, so many years after these conversations took place.”
