Due to the impending departure of Denzel Dumfries, trainer Roger Schmidt has to appoint a new captain at PSV. Marco van Ginkel seems to be a serious option for the German coach. The midfielder already wore the captain’s armband against PAOK Saloniki (1-0) on Wednesday evening and he thinks he has the qualities to take over from Dumfries. Van GInkel was already the winner in the 2017/18 season captain from PSV.

The midfielder then answers with a smile on his face. “No idea, we’ll see.” Van Dongen then states that Van Ginkel is ‘one of the designated leaders’ within the PSV selection. “Yes, you could.
