Aad de Mos regularly looks ahead to European Championship matches on his Instagram account. On Tuesday afternoon, the retired coach with former striker Ronaldo has a striking guest in his short film. De Mos was the trainer of PSV, when the Eindhoven team brought the then seventeen-year-old top talent to the Netherlands in the summer of 1993.

“I am here with a discovery, when he was seventeen years old at Cruzeiro,” De Mos leads the conversation with the now 44-year-old Ronaldo from his holiday address in Ibiza. “Lionel Messi is a great player, Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, Diego Maradona… But in terms of talent, the greatest in the world so far in football is Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima.”

“Thank you, thank you”, Ronaldo responds in Dutch. Then De Mos continues the conversation in English. “How do you see the European Championship final?” Ronaldo said: “There is a big match between Italy and Spain tonight. I love both countries. Italy is always strong when they progress in the tournament. Who will win? Spain is playing very, very well. They have scored 13 goals in five games, so I think Spain,” said the Brazilian. De Mos ends the conversation with his own prediction: “I say Italy.”
