Joey Veerman is associated with a switch from sc Heerenveen to Feyenoord, you know Feyenoord Transfermarkt report on Monday evening. The usually well-entered source says via an Instagram Story that the Rotterdammers would like to talk to the 22-year-old midfielder, but that there is no agreement for the time being.

“Feyenoord still hopes for the signature of Joey Veerman. The club will reopen talks with its management this summer. Nothing is certain yet: Feyenoord will first have to get money in the drawer,” it can be read on the relevant Instagram Story of Feyenoord Transfermarkt. The Feyenoord news site emphasizes on Twitter that the news is by no means certain.

According to reports, the lack of money is currently a stumbling block for Feyenoord. At the moment, the Rotterdammers do not yet have the financial space to incorporate Veerman. The value former midfielder of FC Volendam is shown by Transfermarkt estimated at 8.5 million euros. In the summer of 2019, Veerman came to Heerenveen for 550 thousand euros, where he signed a commitment until mid-2024.

Aad de Mos expects to pick up Veerman for a much lower amount in Friesland, he already indicated. “I don’t think you should get too high in the tree,” said the analyst. “I am thinking of an amount between two and five million euros. If you get four million and it can increase a bit through sales bonuses, for example by making it to the Champions League or he becomes international, then that is a good amount.” Veerman was previously linked to Atalanta, Rangers, Celtic, PSV, Ajax and AZ, among others. “I expect that he will go to one of those clubs”, teammate Henk Veerman said at the end of May.

There may be room in the Rotterdam budget if the transfers of Nicolai Jörgensen and Steven Berghuis go ahead. The latter has been explicitly associated with Ajax in recent weeks, which has not yet reached an agreement with Feyenoord about the transfer fee. The transfer wish of the Danish striker has been known for some time and trainer Arne Slot has already announced that Jörgensen will not be taking action on behalf of the Rotterdam team for the time being.
