Ajax and Feyenoord have announced their selections for the training camps in De Lutte and Austria respectively. With the team from Amsterdam, Mohammed Kudus and Sébastien Haller will return to the selection after their holiday during the internship week in the east of the Netherlands. Feyenoord travels to Austria without Nicolai Jörgensen, while trainer Arne Slot has added youth player Noah Naujoks to his selection.
At Ajax, in De Lutte – where they practice against Quick’20 (Tuesday 6 July) and SC Paderborn (Saturday 10 July) – the internationals who are (or have been) active at the European Championship, the Copa América, the Gold Cup or the Olympic Games – Maarten Stekelenburg, Daley Blind, Ryan Gravenberch, Davy Klaassen, Lisandro Martínez, Nicolás Tagliafico, Sean Klaiber, Antony and Edson Álvarez – are still missing. Haller and Kudus are returning from their holiday, after Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Perr Schuurs, Devyne Rensch and Dusan Tadic had already joined the selection last Friday.
Kjell Scherpen will not travel with Ajax to De Lutte. The 21-year-old goalkeeper was recently explicitly linked to a departure from the team from Amsterdam and would be in the interest of Brighton & Hove Albion. Ten Hag will participate with Calvin Raatsie, Victor Jensen, Youri Regeer, Kian Fitz-Jim, Sontje Hansen, Naci Ünüvar, Youri Baas, Enric Llansana, Ar’jany Martha, Rio Hillen, Anass Salah-Eddine, Kristian Hlynsson, Liam van Gelderen, Christian Rasmussen and Amourricho van Axel Dongen brought the necessary young talents to training camp.
Feyenoord will travel to Austria this week for a training camp and will do so without Ridgeciano Haps, Steven Berghuis and Jörgensen. Haps will play the Gold Cup with Suriname, while Berghuis – who is emphatically linked to a transfer to Ajax – is still on holiday after he was active with the Dutch at the European Championship. Slot previously announced that Jörgensen does not have to count on a place in the selection for the time being and the Danish striker will therefore not travel to Austria. Orkun Kökçü and Robert Bozeník rejoined the selection on Monday, after they already stranded in the group stage of the European Championship with Turkey and Slovakia.
Slot also takes the necessary youth players to training camp. Earlier it became clear that Antoni Milambo and Lennard Hartjes were allowed to go to Austria, but the nineteen-year-old attacking midfielder Naujoks has also been given a place in the selection.
