Roy Keane does not have a good word for João Félix’s performance in the eighth final of the European Championship between Belgium and Portugal (1-0). Ten minutes after the break, when Belgium was already ahead, Félix made his entrance as a replacement for João Moutinho. Keane, who works as an analyst at ITV, is amazed at the lack of decisiveness of the man who switched from Benfica to Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2019 for 126 million euros.

Portugal fired no fewer than 23 goals against Belgium, the highest number at this European Championship for a team that failed to score. Of those 23 shots, 5 were on target. The very last chance was for Félix, who shot wide in stoppage time from the edge of the penalty area after André Silva put the ball in front of him. Keane found it frustrating that Felix failed to test Thibaut Courtois and also felt that Bruno Fernandes fell short in Seville. The Manchester United midfielder made his appearance at the same time as Félix.

“It annoyed me, especially because they are good players. It’s hard to talk about players who can’t even shoot at goal,” the former Manchester United midfielder grumbles. “At least put the goalkeeper to the test! Félix, the substitute, that boy is a cheater, a cheater. He fills in, the whole country needs you… Shoot on target! How much did he cost? £100 million? If “If I were Cristiano Ronaldo, I would definitely tackle him in the dressing room. It was terrifying. Felix and Fernandes drove me crazy. Portugal can only blame themselves. They fought, but they came up short.”

Belgium has not had so many shots to process since the game against Brazil (27) in the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup (1-2 win). The Red Devils won the match against Portugal with a goal from Thorgan Hazard in the first half. The quarterfinals against Italy are scheduled for Friday evening in Munich.
