Feyenoord ended up at FC Midtjylland in the search for a new second goalkeeper. According to the Rotterdammers have Ektra Bladet made an offer for Jesper Hansen, who will serve as stand-in behind Justin Bijlow next season. That role was reserved for Nick Marsman last season, but he signed a contract with Inter Miami in April. Despite an offer from Feyenoord, it is still very much the question whether Hansen himself is interested in a transfer to the Eredivisie. according to Feyenoord Transfermarkt there is as yet no agreement.

Hansen is a 36-year-old goalkeeper who has been under contract with Midtjylland since 2017, where he still has a contract until next summer. The keeper went through the youth academy at FC Nordsjaelland, but only broke through after being rented out to Olstykke for a year. After a stopover in France with Évian and Bastia, he returned to his homeland in 2016. For the past four seasons he wore the shirt of Midtjylland, with which he played against Ajax in the Champions League.

Although Feyenoord has made an offer according to the above daily, Hansen feels more for a longer stay in the Danish Super League. However, Hansen has been pushed to the reserve bench since the arrival of Jonas Loessl and refuses to settle for a second goalkeeper role. A transfer is therefore one of the possibilities, it sounds like. The Danish fruit and vegetable sector would also see a welcome reinforcement in Hansen. The former reserve goalkeeper of the Danish national team has played one international match so far. If Feyenoord succeeds in attracting him, he will become the second reinforcement for next season after Guus Til.

Due to the departure of Marsman, technical director Frank Arnesen has to look for a new goalkeeper behind Bijlow. Last season, Marsman was the second goalkeeper and Ramón ten Hove as the third goalkeeper. Ten Hove also said goodbye to Feyenoord last season. After Marsman’s departure, Arnesen left the General Newspaper already know how to go for an ‘experienced and cheap backup’ behind Bijlow. Hansen’s contract in Denmark runs for another year. Its market value is increased by Transfermarkt estimated at 250,000 euros.
