Feyenoord has ended up with the Norwegian Molde FK in the search for a new right back. Feyenoord Transfermarkt announced on Monday afternoon that the Rotterdammers are interested in Marcus Holmgren Pedersen. The defender and youth international of Norway still has a contract with Molde until the winter of 2022 and must serve as a reinforcement for the right back position in Rotterdam.

Holmgren Pedersen went through the youth academy of Tromsö, where he also made his debut in the main squad in 2018. Last February, Molde decided to take over the defender and sign for three years. Holmgren Pedersen also made nine appearances for the Norway Under-19 and played two international matches for the Under-21. In 2019, he competed with Norway Under-19 in the European Championship, playing in all three group matches.

Last season Holmgren Pedersen was not always a fixed value at the right back position at Molde. In total he made 25 appearances, of which 20 times as a basic player. In it he managed to find the net twice. In the Europa League he made ten appearances, of which he started eight times from the kick-off. Molde stranded in the European tournament in the eighth finals, when the Spanish Granada proved too strong over two matches.

Technical director Frank Arnesen is working hard in the background on the selection for the new season. For example, a large number of players return from rental periods abroad and in the Kitchen Champion Division and Arne Slot has Guus Til at his disposal. He is rented from Spartak Moscow. Jonas Svensson was also linked to a transfer to Feyenoord during the season and is said to have even spoken with Slot. The AZ defender wants to use his transfer-free status to find a new club.
