The line-ups of Turkey and Italy for the opening match of the European Championship have been announced. Both teams will enter the first game in Group A without surprises. The game will be played from 9 PM at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, but formally Turkey is the home team. The game is led by referee Danny Makkelie.

Italy’s preparation was sent off by the withdrawals of Stefano Sensi and Lorenzo Pellegrini, who had to miss the European Championship due to muscle injuries. In addition, Marco Verratti has not fully recovered from a knee injury, leaving him missing against Turkey. As a result, Manuel Locatelli has again been given a base place, who also had a base place in the friendly match against the Czech Republic (4-0) last Friday.

Turkish national coach Senol Günes chooses to put Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kökçü on the bench. The same goes for former FC Twente attackers Ibrahim Dervisoglu and Enes Ünal. Turkey beat Moldova 2-0 in the last exhibition game on their way to the European Championship and will play against Italy in exactly the same line-up as last Thursday. Italy is also not making any changes compared to the last exhibition game.

Turkey setup: Çakir; Çelik, Demiral, Soyuncu, Meras; Yokuslu; Karaman, Tufan, Yazici, alhanoglu; Yilmaz

Italy line-up: Donnarumma; Florenzi, Bonucci, Chiellini, Spinazzola; Barella, Jorginho, Locatelli; Berardi, Immobile, Insignia.
