Siemen Voet can officially call himself a player of PEC Zwolle. The 21-year-old left-footed center defender passed the medical examination without any problems and then signed a contract for two seasons, with the option of a third year in Zwolle. Voet was loaned by Brugge to KV Mechelen last season, where he made his debut in the Jupiler League.

Technical manager Mike Willems explains why PEC came to Voet. “Siemen is a footballing defender who makes an excellent impression on Art (Langeler, ed.), the scouts and me. Voet entered the youth academy of Bruges in 2009 and the counter in the main squad now stands at nine league matches and a duel in the Belgian cup. In his debut against KV Kortrijk last October, the mandekker scored immediately. Voet, taken as successor to Thomas Lam, has so far reached a youth international match on behalf of the Belgian national team. After Kostas Lamprou and Jasper Schendelaar, he is the third acquisition of PEC for next season.
