Both TOP Oss and FC Dordrecht announced the arrival of a new trainer on Tuesday afternoon. In Brabant, Bob Peeters is the successor to the dismissed Klaas Wels, while Dordrecht places the responsibility in the hands of Michele Santoni. The latter had been employed by ADO Den Haag since 2020, where he served as an assistant coach. Peeters comes over from Belgium, where he was under contract with Westerlo for the past three and a half years. In addition, Dordrecht announced the arrival of Leon Vlemmings as the new technical director.

At TOP Oss there was a lot to do about the dismissal of Wels. The longest serving trainer of the Kitchen Champion Division was told by the Brabant club that his contract was not being extended and thus saw an end to a thirteen-year partnership. “We deliberately spoke to a lot of candidates”, technical director Peter Bijvelds explains the choice for Peeters. “There were quite a few good candidates among them, but Bob definitely made the best impression on us. Besides the fact that he obviously has quite relevant experience, his people and football idea really appealed to us.”

In the past, 47-year-old Peeters wore the shirts of Roda JC and Vitesse in the Netherlands and worked as a trainer at AA Gent and Charlton Athletic, among others. “My interest in Dutch football has always been undiminished,” Peeters tells the TOP Oss club website. “I’ve heard that people from Ossen are people who go to a competition with passion and that really appealed to me. In the conversations with Peter and Marcel, the vision, passion and pleasure to make something of it together were so close, that it clicked right away.” Peeters was fired by Westerlo in September 2016 and returned at the end of 2017.

At Dordrecht they will put their trust in Santoni’s hands next season. The coach was presented on Tuesday afternoon at the last number of the past season in the Kitchen Champion Division. Dordrecht also announced the arrival of Vlemmings as technical director to the world. “With the arrival of Vlemmings and Santoni, a new era is dawning for FC Dordrecht,” says general manager Hans de Zeeuw. “The intention is that next season we will work from a contemporary football vision.”
