NAC Breda has booked a simple victory in the Kitchen Champion Division on Monday evening. On a visit to NEC, the team of trainer Maurice Steijn enjoyed a comfortable lead at halftime, which was held until the final signal: 0-2. Thanks to the victory, NAC still has a minimal chance of enforcing direct promotion to the Eredivisie, although a five-point deficit on number two De Graafschap has to be made up.

NEC – NAC Breda 0-2
The Nijmegen team seemed to get off to a good start, as Rangelo Janga fired a second shot at the hostile goal after just seven minutes. The striker was allowed to accept and strike from within the penalty area, but goalkeeper Nick Olij saved the game. Then it was NAC’s turn. After a foul on Kaj de Rooij in the sixteen, referee Edwin van de Graaf pointed to the spot. Mounir El Allouchi took his responsibility and fired in convincingly: 0-1. Ten minutes later, NAC doubled its lead.

It was Sydney van Hooijdonk who was allowed to build just outside the box for a free kick, which he curled in the top right corner in a phenomenal way: 2-0. Just before half time, the visitors were able to increase the suffering of NEC even more when De Rooij created space for the shot from close range but saw goalkeeper Mattijs Branderhorst make a beautiful save. NEC then started on the second act with offensive intentions, but NAC held up quite simply. In the final phase, Van Hooijdonk and substitute DJ Buffonge, among others, were given good opportunities to score a third goal. The half-time score, however, remained on the scoreboard until the final whistle.

Jong PSV – TOP Oss 0-0
The first half of the North Brabant derby was a feast for the eyes for the neutral viewer. Both teams created the necessary opportunities, but on behalf of TOP Oss, Mart Remans, among others, did not have a sharp eye; Fredrik Oppegärd came across goalkeeper Bo Geens on behalf of Jong PSV with a shot from close range. In the second act, the latter would be sent off the field. He unluckily lost the ball and committed a foul in an attempt to recapture the ball, which was punished with a direct red card by referee Robin Hensgens. However, the Eindhoven U23 team could no longer exploit the surplus situation in the remaining ten minutes.
