Fenerbahçe dealt with Büyüksehir Belediye Erzurumspor on Monday evening without too many problems. The top club took well away from the relegation candidate early in the game, but was unable to continue the fierce start: 3-1. Fenerbahçe thus had a beautiful 114th anniversary of the club. The team of trainer Emre Belözoglu takes over the second place from Galatasaray thanks to the victory. The gap to leader Besiktas is five points, with three matches to go.

Number nineteen Erzurumspor desperately needs the points in the fight against relegation, but soon played a hopeless match. Within fifteen minutes, Fenerbahçe was leading 3-0. José Sosa opened the score in the sixth minute from a penalty kick, which was awarded when Gökhan Kardes, former defender of Young PSV, touched the ball with his arm in an attempt to stop Enner Valencia from shooting. Sosa hit the penalty high in the right corner. Shortly afterwards it became 2-0, when Valencia received a splitting pass from Irfan Kahveci, bypassing goalkeeper Jakub Szumski and finishing in an empty goal.

Dimitrios Pelkas made it 3-0 when he was served by Valencia around the penalty spot and immediately lashed out effectively. Six minutes before the break, Pelkas was close to his second goal with a low shot; in the opening phase of the second half, Valencia was not happy in the conclusion in a favorable position. Özgür Sert made it 3-1 nine minutes before the end, after he received the ball in the penalty area from Gabriel Obertan. Striker Oltan Karakullukçu then missed a good chance of the 3-2, so that real tension remained in the final phase. Ferdi Kadioglu stayed on the bench for the entire match.
