Antony has published a candid video after obtaining his first national title with Ajax. The Brazilian winger looks back on his first year in the Netherlands on his social media channels. He says that he had a difficult time in his first months in Amsterdam, partly because he had to leave his family behind in Brazil. He now feels completely at home at Ajax.
“Saying goodbye in Brazil was difficult for me,” says Antony in the video. “I had to leave everyone behind because of the pandemic. The beginning was a shock. A new culture, new country, new language. There was another great barrier between me and my dream. But I did it. All expectations gave me extra strength. ” Antony continues in the video that he felt welcome at Ajax and made new friends. “I have discovered a new family.”
