The name of Neymar is once again associated in Spain with a switch to Barcelona. RAC1 reports that the Brazilian attacker of Paris Saint-Germain is at the top of the Catalans’ wish list for next summer. Contacts have even been made about a return of Neymar and despite the initial response from Paris being negative, Barcelona thinks he is cheaper than two years ago.

Barcelona already made a concrete attempt in the summer of 2019 to bring Neymar back to Catalonia. According to RAC1 PSG asked at the time a transfer fee of 130 million euros and three players as a means of exchange. Barcelona did not come to an agreement with the reigning champions of France, but it now appears that both sides are back together. The first contacts between PSG and Barcelona have been made, although it is currently sounding from Paris that Neymar is not allowed to leave.

There is nevertheless reason to suspect that the Barcelona attempt has a chance of success. For now, Neymar’s contract with PSG will continue until mid-2022 and despite several signals that he will soon be renewing that contract, he has not yet signed. There are noises from Spain that this has to do with the fact that Barcelona is once again interested in bringing him back to Spain. Neymar would like to make the switch to Barcelona himself.

Despite the fact that PSG reacted ‘negatively’ to the first contacts of Barcelona about Neymar, it is suspected les Parisiens will have a lower asking price than two summers ago. As long as Neymar has not signed up, next summer will be the last moment to sell him for a relatively favorable transfer fee before he enters his last contract year. PSG took over Neymar from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 for 222 million euros and since then he has played 110 appearances for the French top club, providing 84 goals and 50 assists.
