In the view of Fieldlab Events, it is possible under strict conditions to allow outdoor events to take place with 50 to 75 percent of the normal visitor capacity. The events agency comes to this conclusion based on three games in professional football that have been tested. Fieldlab therefore advises the Dutch government in view of the recent tests to allow more spectators in duels in the Eredivisie and Kitchen Champion Division.

The Dutch government has, according to the Algemeen Dagblad requested advice from the Outbreak Management Team (OMT) regarding the Fieldlab research results. At NEC – De Graafschap, Almere City FC – SC Cambuur and the Netherlands – Latvia, the behavior of the visitors was carefully examined, while consideration was also given to the stadium visit for the coming period. According to Fieldlab, there are some conditions attached to increasing the stadium capacity.

Currently, tests are being carried out with an occupancy of about fifteen percent of the stadium capacity, but according to Fieldlab that percentage can be increased significantly. The organization does specify the necessary conditions for this. For example, all visitors must do a corona test beforehand, spectators must move through the stadium wearing a mouth cap. If more than fifty percent of the stadium is filled, the mouth mask must also remain on the seat.

On the other hand, the one and a half meters may be released in the stadium. Research has shown that the difference in infections between keeping a distance or not is minimal. This was tested by means of various bubbles: one group of supporters was instructed to keep their distance, while the other group of fans was allowed to sit close together.
