After the promotion was already won last week, SC Cambuur also secured the championship in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. The team of trainer Henk de Jong won 2-4 on a visit to Jong AZ, while competitor De Graafschap lost points against Almere City: 2-2. It once again brought great joy to the players of Cambuur.

“He has finally arrived. Yes, incredibly proud ”, Sonny Stevens begins in conversation with Football zone. “On the team, also on myself a little. This is what you do it for. Last week it was two days of celebration, when we graduated unofficially and then officially. I think it will now be another restless weekend. We went like a rocket here, there were great goals in between and it is a pity that it collapses a bit in the second half. But yes, that should not have a name. ”
How will Cambuur celebrate this championship? “I read somewhere that we have a helicopter flight. I think we will soon be drinking a lot of beer during the bus trip back to Leeuwarden ”, the goalkeeper answers. Trainer Henk de Jong expected a smaller party. The players’ bus was eventually received by 200 to 250 supporters in Leeuwarden. “We are going home, because we already had a party last week and that is not possible every week. Because then you will get people against you. So we are not going to do that. We are going to have a beer on the bus and go home, then we will soon be able to do fun things. ”
“There are still three games to play, we can still become period champion and get another bowl. You have to accelerate, because I told those guys that they can have a unique month in their careers. I am not a trainer at a top club, so you will not continue to win everything ”, the Cambuur trainer continues. “If you know everything afterwards, it is genius what happened. We popped in one more time and we did it again. If I could have signed for that … But you don’t know, do you. It is a great compliment for my boys. ”
Robert Mühren also stood in front of the camera with a smile after the game in the AFAS Stadium Football zone. “I think last week was already a huge release,” says the striker, who scored his 35th goal of the season in Alkmaar. “This is dessert. We wanted to be the best, we have already shown that for two years. Now it is official. ”
