Ajax has extended the contract of Anass Salah-Eddine for two seasons, the club announced on the official channels on Friday afternoon. The nineteen-year-old left wing defender had an expiring contract and is with the new contract stuck in Amsterdam until mid-2023.

Salah-Eddine came over from AZ in 2018 and made his debut in professional football in January last year, when he started in the base in the away match against Young PSV (0-0). In preparation for the current season, he was seriously injured in a friendly game against Almere City. He was sidelined for months due to torn anklets and a broken fibula. Salah-Eddine made his comeback in the Kitchen Champion Division on March 19 in the home game won against MVV Maastricht (4-3). Just before time, he came in as a substitute.

The club and the player’s agent started the first talks about a new contract in January. This has resulted in a new two-year commitment. On Instagram, the talent responds enthusiastically to his new contract. “Today is a great day for me and my family. I am proud to have renewed my contract. I look forward to shining on the field again for this great club.”

“I still have the ambition to play in Ajax 1 as quickly as possible. This injury does not change that. It is now only possible with a small detour”, the left back said on the Ajax club website last year. “I even think that this will make me stronger. Mentally and physically. Because let’s be honest: such an injury is not nothing. I will do everything I can to make my dreams come true.”
